Fertility awareness is vital when sifting through the confusing world of trying to conceive. Today, I’m starting my six-part series on the most Googled questions on natural fertility.
My journey of trying for a baby took three and a half years—it was a long and emotional road. Like you, I turned to Google, only to find conflicting advice that confused me even more.
So, I wrote this series to help answer these questions and give you precise, natural fertility tips and lifestyle changes, giving you more clarity as you continue your fertility journey.
So, let’s get started with the most Google questions on natural fertility!
Addressing Fertility Concerns Proactively
When addressing fertility concerns proactively, one common question is: What foods stop you from getting pregnant? The answer isn’t as simple as one specific food, but one thing is clear—processed foods are not your friend. They interfere with your body’s overall health, including fertility.
As part of your fertility awareness, it’s essential to understand that nutrition is complex, but focusing on balanced, whole foods will give your body the support it needs. I know you’re busy and don’t have time to cook elaborate meals.
That’s why my recipes are simple, practical, and designed to fit into your life. They’re divided into each phase of your cycle, making it easy to balance your blood sugar and support the right hormones at the right time.
While no food will instantly prevent or boost pregnancy, ditching processed foods and focusing on whole, nourishing meals that are easy to throw together can help create a healthier foundation for conception. So, ditch the processed foods and nourish yourself well!
Proven Tips to Optimize Fertility
Part of my role is to help debunk fertility myths so women do not waste precious time and money on fruitless attempts to get pregnant.
When looking to optimize fertility, the most crucial step is increasing your fertility awareness by understanding your cycle and identifying your fertile window. There’s no magic herb or pill that guarantees pregnancy, but knowing when you're ovulating is vital.
In all honesty, from someone who's medically trained and tried for a baby for a very long time, the only proven tip for getting pregnant is to understand your cycle and know when your fertile window is. Remember, fertility isn’t just about getting pregnant—it’s about being healthy enough to support a pregnancy and have the energy to raise a baby afterwards.
So, turn your minds to your natural family planning cycle. If it’s healthy, you’ll notice clear cervical mucus and a natural increase in libido, which are signs that you’re fertile.
Addressing fertility concerns proactively is essential, as is timing. Progesterone rising in the second half of your cycle helps with implantation. So, having sex before ovulation ensures sperm is in place when the egg is released, giving you the best chance at conception.
While your egg has a short life span and only lives for 12-24 hours, sperm can live for 4-6 days, so when I say timing is everything, I mean it. Getting the timing right makes all the difference.
If this sounds overwhelming, don’t worry. Check out my free online course, An Introduction to Natural Fertility. It breaks everything down simply, including how to time things perfectly. Additionally, you can read current research on infertility to learn more about irregular symptoms.
Remember, learn and understand your cycle, ensure it's healthy, and get your timing right. No shortcuts—just good, solid preparation!
Embracing Fertility Awareness for Your Journey
Fertility awareness isn’t just about understanding your cycle; it’s about connecting with your body and listening to its cues. Your fertility journey is deeply personal, and the more you become aware of your body’s rhythms, the better prepared you’ll be for conception and pregnancy.
Remember, fertility isn’t a race. Take the time to nourish yourself—physically, emotionally, and mentally. Every step you take now sets the foundation for a healthier, more balanced pregnancy experience.
If you’ve been following my journey, you know I’m a woman on a mission. That mission is to bring light, information, and straightforward answers to all the women trying to conceive naturally—especially those who have been told that at 36 or older, they’re “too old.” I promise you; you’re not.
I have a small favour: If you know a woman who could benefit from these answers, please share this information with her. Too often, we are left in the dark when understanding our bodies, especially regarding natural fertility.
Thanks for being here,
